Welcome to it, Eli Parker. We’ve been waiting, and waiting.

Where did you come from, baby dear?
Out of the Everywhere and into here.
~George MacDonald

Eli Parker finally made it. I was so excited the past week or so waiting on him to get here. The anticipation was high for all of us.  Who is this guy gonna be? Is he going to look like his big brother at all, or was he going to look so much like him that we just can’t get over how much the resemble one another. Is he going to have hair? Will it be a lot or just a little? Will he have is momma’s toes and his daddy’s smile?  We wondered how big he was, because there just wasn’t anyway his mom could fit anymore of him inside her belly. Then he finally made it. He weighed in at 9lbs 11 oz, 23 inches long, had some dark hair and at times looks so much like his big brother, that I have flash backs to holding Orion after he made it here 5 years ago.  There were so many  great moments since he got here. A few I got to take pictures of and some I’ll just store forever in my mind.   Orion, who stayed with me and his Aunt Cara and Uncle Brad while Melissa and Mike were at the hospital, asked about his “brudder” all the time and couldn’t wait until we’d go visit everyday.  My favorite memory is going to be Orion looking into the baby’s bed saying, “Hello Eli Parker. I’m your big brudder. My name is Orion.”

I can’t look over these with out getting misty eyed. I loved getting to take pictures of the moment this family grew and opened up a little more to make room for one more.  My family and friends have the most amazing babies and I love getting to have them in my life.  I love them all dearly and Eli is now a part of all that.  I’m not sure I remember a day without him in it. Hasn’t he always been here?

RyLynn turns one.

What’s that saying? Oh yeah, better late than never. Just before Christmas, I meet up with RyLynn and her momma to take her One year pictures.  One year!!!! What an amazing blessing to watch her grow and grow and grow. I know she’s magic to everyone in her life and I am glad to have share in that.  I heard she had a good birthday, complete with an owl cake and everything.

Out of the office….

Hi friends:)Starting tomorrow I will be out of touch for a week or so. So what does that mean? It simply means if you call or email, I won’t be able to reply until around the 16th or so. Please don’t hesitate to email or leave a message on my phone. I will reply to all as soon as I can. Take care and see you in a few days.:)

Samantha booked a session with me a couple months ago and from they time she booked I couldn’t wait to meet her and Chris. We’d been tossing ideas around here and there and to finally  meet up was awesome, and it was.   I think Sam is fantastic and is getting ready to graduate this Sunday from WVU (Go Sam!) and Chris is awesome too. I knew I liked him when we started to bond over the delightfully disturbing TV show, American Horror Story.   Thanks Samantha and Chris for hanging out with me for a couple hours. I had a blast getting to  finally meet you both! Congrats again Samantha!

The one with Clara and Co. | Beckley, WV Newborn and Family Photographer

I met Ms. Clara and company a couple weeks ago. She’s pretty fresh and new to the world and you know meeting brand new little people has it charms. Babies always amaze me. I mean I’ve been around for 31 years, I’ve know about them for along, long time but every time you hold a newbie, it’s like  seeing a unicorn jumping over a rainbow while a  Carebear and Smurf ride it’s back.  Okay that also sounds like LSD, but holding and brand new baby does make you feel kind of high.    For Clara to only be a couple weeks old, she had some pretty amazing conspiracy theories  and thoughts about life. She, along with Brother Dog Howie , will be the next Stewie and Brian Griffin.  I’ll wait while some of you google those names………Anyway, to pay her parents back for the amount of time she had to spend naked , she kindly pooped on their pillow, not my pillow, their pillow.  I had to high five her when no one was looking.   Anyway, I’ll get to pics of the pretty little lady and her awesome family!
