Davina, has been one of my dearest, best friends since, well as she puts it, “We go way back, like car seats.” So of course I said “Duh” when she wanted to know if she could schedule a session for her and Barry. Davina met Barry through friend and the started dating shortly before he deployed for Afghanistan. Again, I could never understand what and how either of them felt during those months. It’s no small thing to see one of your best friends be so happy, but I didn’t know what was coming next. In between an outfit change, Barry pulled me aside and showed me a ring that he was minutes away from slipping onto her hand. She didn’t know, I didn’t know. It was AWESOME, and such a cool thing to witness. I was flabbergasted the rest of the evening, even after the deed was done, all through the rest of the session and dinner too. And Davina, well, you’ll see….
“I may not get to see you as often as I like. I may not get to hold you in my arms all through the night. But deep in my heart I truly know, you ‘re the one that I love and I can’t let you go.” ~Unknown
In November, Kevin, a Marine, flew home from Japan and made Melinda his wife. They were married at Foxwood Inn at Flat Top, surrounded by friends, family and fellow Marines. It was a relaxing day for me, because Kevin and Melinda were so laid back and once they saw each other, that was it, the day could proceed worry free. The wedding cake could have been on fire, and it wouldn’t have mattered. Okay, I would have been a little bummed because, you know, it’s wedding cake. It’s an amazing feeling to get to follow two people around who are in love and who like to laugh and have a good time. Kevin had to return to Japan not long after their honeymoon. I’m sure I could never imagine what that feels like, but I just know they do it, they make and count down the days until good morning and good night are in the same house, the same time zone. Thank you both for the privilege of spending the day with you, and thank you both for the sacrifices you make everyday.

I always enjoy a visit with Maggie and Lydia(Emily and Bob too). I can’t believe how much the little ladies have grown, but then again, I seem to never be able to get over that. Time goes fast.
I got to meet Noah and Summer this fall, and it made my day! Paula and Kevin, you guys have a fantastic family and two of the best kids I have ever met. Kudos to you on a job well done! Noah was a good sport and so very kind and Summer, well, she has the best giggle.
